NeuroOps is the operations platform we developed for Autizum, an ABA provider. ABA centers run on referrals, authorizations, schedules and claims that usually live in different tools. This tour covers what the platform does, module by module. See the Autizum case study for the background.
In short: NeuroOps is ABA practice management software developed by TWO44 for Autizum. Its ten main features are a referral and fax intake pipeline, authorization management, a reauthorization board, authorization-linked scheduling, an AI-assisted plan of care builder, session data collection, claims and denials, role-based access, encrypted PHI fields and audit logs.
1. Referral and fax intake pipeline
Inbound faxes are captured through RingCentral, read with OCR and turned into referrals that move through visible stages: insurance check, assessment scheduling and authorization.
Staff can correct an extracted date when the OCR reads it wrongly. Read more: ABA referral and intake software.
2. Physician referral expiry check
A referral must be dated within the last 12 months. The platform stores the date, its source and the computed expiry, and a new referral is requested before the case can advance. See how ABA centers track referral expiration.
3. Authorization management per CPT code
Each payer approval is a header with one line per CPT code. Units are the source of truth (1 unit is 15 minutes), and hours are derived. Details in the authorization tracking checklist.
4. Reauthorization board
A board shows each authorization as upcoming, due, plan of care in progress, ready to submit, submitted or decided, and shows days lapsed. See how ABA centers track reauthorization.
5. Scheduling that consumes authorizations
The team and client calendar links each billable event to an authorization line, blocks double-booking and warns when a week passes its weekly cap. See the scheduling features checklist.
6. AI-assisted plan of care builder
Rules calculate units and run automatic checks, an AI assistant drafts narrative and goals, and a BCBA approves. Read the guardrails we use for AI.
7. Session data collection
Therapists start data collection from a scheduled event on web, iOS or Android. Records are append-only, and summaries are computed when the session is submitted. See ABA session data collection.
8. Claims, remittances and denials
Signed sessions become charges, then scrubbed claims, with acknowledgments, remittance posting and a denial work queue. See common billing denials and fixes.
9. Tasks, SOPs and courses
Typed tasks with checklists replace shared inboxes. The platform also holds SOPs with acknowledgments and training courses with certificates.
10. Role-based access, encryption and audit logs
Sensitive fields are encrypted at the application layer, access is scoped by role and location, and PHI access, overrides and denied attempts are audit-logged without logging the PHI itself. This is HIPAA-conscious design; compliance depends on how a practice operates the system.
